Key development areas

  In accordance with the needs of the economic development in Futian District, Futian District People¡¯s Government has decided the following areas as the key areas of economic development:  

Shenzhen Central Zone

  Shenzhen Central Zone, covering a land area of 607 hectares, is surrounded by four trunk roads, i.e. Binhe Road, Lianhua Road, Caitian Road and Xinzhou Road. It has a planned construction area of 7,500,000 m2. It is divided into three parts: the south, the north, and the Lianhuashan Park. The southern part will be the central business center of Shenzhen, with Shenzhen International Exhibition Centerand a lot of top-grade office buildings in this area. The northern part will be the center of administration and culture with Civic Center, Cultural Center, TV Center, and Young Palace in this area. Lianhuashan Park is a free city park with beautiful scenery and complete facilities; it is undoubtedly a green jade of Shenzhen. The central zone focuses on developing headquarter economy, exhibition economy, cultural economy, finance, securities, insurance, property transaction, intermediary service, and media, and enterprises home and abroad are encouraged to set up their headquarters in this area. After the completion of the construction of Shenzhen Central Zone, it will be a modern international city with full functions especially in administration, finance, business, culture, information, exhibition and tourism.

Huaqiangbei Shopping Street

  Huaqiangbei Shopping Streetcovers a land area of 145 hectares , adjacent to Shennan Avenue in the south, Hongli Road in the north, Shangbu Road in the east and Huafu Road in the west. With 1,800 commercial and service sites, and a retailing area over 800,000 m2 ,it attracts 12,000 enterprises running business here and 500,000 customers daily on average. It is the ¡°National Street of Shopping Without Worry¡±. Both Shenzhen Municipal Government and Futian District Government will go a step further to the second stage transformation of Huaqiangbei, focousing on improving its infrastructure such as traffic, power and environment protection, improving matched functions, building eight special blocks and nine featured streets, and creating symbolic flagship stores. The aim of Huaqiangbei is to be a national well¨Cknown modern business center with vivid features, completed functions and beautiful environment, as well as a shopping center that is necessitated for Shenzhen to become an international metropolis. 

Terra Industry & Trade Park

  Covering a land area of 120 hectares, Terra Industry & Trade Park is adjacent to Shenzhen Golf Court in the east, Shennan Avenue in the north, Guangzhou-Shenzhen Highway in the west, as well as Binhe Road and Mangrove Natural Reserve District in the south. Tian¡¯an Digital City-A national level private science & technology park-and Tanran Jingu Hi-tech Industrial Park are located in this area. It is the most important hi-tech base and export base of Futian District. Terra Industry & Trade Park focuses on developing private science & technology enterprises, and building itself into a fairyland of science & technology and innovation.

Bagualing Industrial Zone

  Covering a land area of 250 hectares, Bagualing Industrial Zone is one of the old key industrial bases in Futian. Some of its factories¡¯ buildings had been transformed. It accommodates more than 500 enterprises and is specialized in logistics and storage. The focal points is to maintain new high-tech enterprises and traditional superior industries, to create an industrial park specializing in design, gifts making, and fine works; to encourage developing such professional wholesale markets as logistics service, cultural products, and automobile products, etc., to build a street featured in cate and food, thus transforming Bagualing Industrial Zone  into a comprehensive park of economic development.

Futian Free Trade Zone

  Covering a land area of 135 hectares, Futian Free Trade Zone was established on May 28,1991 after the approval of the State Council. It is adjacent to Huanggang Customs lying in the east, Mangrove Natural Reserve District in the west, Shenzhen River in the south and Guangzhou-Shenzhen Highway in the north. It is one of the three special economic areas that implement the policy of ¡°full development¡± in the city of Shenzhen. Supervised by the customs, it is the largest bonded area of Shenzhen. There is a special-purpose passway that leads directly to Hong Kong, so the investment environment is very superior. It make great efforts to develop new high-tech industry, logistics service and international trade. There are nearly 1000 enterprises in Futian Free Trade Zone.

Futian Science and Technology Plaza

  Futian Science and Technology Plaza has unique advantages in geographical position. It is located at the cross of Shennan Central Road and Huanggang Road, links with Meiguan Highway in the north and Huanggang Customs in the south, and it is adjacent to the central area of Shenzhen city in the east. It has a planned construction area of 230,000 m2. It places emphasis on introducing high-end projects of Shenzhen Software industry into this Plaza. Large software companies and international famous training institutions are encouraged to set up their office here to ensure it will be of a top ranking software R&D base.
