福田区沙头街道成立于1983年，辖区东起新洲路，南临深圳湾，西毗南山区欢乐海岸，北至深南大道，面积16.76平方公里，常住人口25.86万人。街道下辖下沙、上沙、沙嘴、沙尾、新洲、金城、天安、新沙、金碧、金地、新华、翠湾12个社区。

　　沙头街道主要特点：一是环境优美、生态独特。有红树林自然保护区、福田体育公园、福田海滨生态体育公园、福荣绿道等公园和风景区，红树林自然保护区是中国唯一一个位于城市中心腹地的国家级自然保护区，与香港米埔共同构成了东半球最为重要的候鸟迁徙中转站和湿地生态系统之一。二是历史悠久、源远流长。辖区有下沙、上沙、沙咀、沙尾、新洲等5个股份合作公司（城中村）。围村文化是深圳重要文化源流，下沙“大盆菜”、上沙“辞亲歌”“挂红歌”、沙尾“点灯礼”等传承至今，被视为深圳历史文化的重要根脉。三是产业聚集、蓬勃发展。深圳品牌服装、软件开发、商贸消费等行业重点企业汇聚于此。四是规模以上的企业数量超千家，国家级高新技术企业数量399家。企业千帆竞发，发展不断优化。

Shatou Subdistrict, Futian District, was founded in 1983. Bordered by Xinzhou Road to the east, Shenzhen Bay to the south, OCT Harbour of Nanshan District to the west, and Shennan Boulevard to the north, the subdistrict covers a land area of 16.76 square kilometers and has a permanent resident population of 258,600. It administers 12 communities, namely Xiasha, Shangsha, Shazui, Shawei, Xinzhou, Jincheng, Tian'an, Xinsha, Jinbi, Jindi, Xinhua, and Cuiwan.

Shatou Subdistrict boasts four distinctive advantages:

1. Pleasant Ecological Environment with Unique Natural Resources

The subdistrict is home to a host of parks and scenic areas, including Mangrove National Nature Reserve, Futian Sports Park, Futian Coastal Ecological Sports Park, and Furong Green Belt. As China's only national nature reserve situated in the central urban area, the Mangrove National Nature Reserve, together with Mai Po Wetland in Hong Kong, constitutes one of the most crucial stopover sites for migratory birds and wetland ecological systems across the Eastern Hemisphere.

There are five joint-stock cooperative companies (urban villages) under its jurisdiction: Xiasha, Shangsha, Shazui, Shawei and Xinzhou.
