Futian District covers a total area of 78.66 square kilometers, accounting for about 4% of the total area of Shenzhen.

Futian ranks among the top districts in China in terms of economic output, with a regional gross domestic product of 551.40 billion yuan (US$75.76 billion) in 2022. 

Futian has for years led Shenzhen in terms of per capita gross domestic product, per capita tax revenue, total retail sales of consumer goods, import and export volume, and added value in the financial industry. 

It has consistently ranked among the top three districts on the "CCID Top 100 Districts in China" list for three consecutive years and has received honors such as " Peaceful China Initiative Model County," "Top 100 Happy Districts" in China and the "2022 World Smart City Awards-China Economic Award."
