Located in the eastern part of the Futian District, the Huaqiangbei Subdistrict measures 2.96 square kilometers.

With the strategic positioning as a global electronic device trading center, a global hardware innovation and entrepreneurship center and an international consumer electronics center, Huaqiangbei has been striving to build itself into an international block of innovation and entrepreneurship featuring innovation, science and technology, and culture and tourism that appeals to young scientific and technological talents and high-end international innovation teams.

Huaqiangbei focuses on building an international innovation and entrepreneurship neighborhood with industry-city integration and compound functions.

Huaqiangbei was recognized in 2021 as “Shenzhen's Special Cultural Block” for its science, technology, fashion and cultural characteristics.

Shenzhen proposed for the first time to build an international block system in the city in 2019. One of the first in the batch of international blocks, the Huaqiangbei Subdistrict has been building an international business, cultural and tourism neighborhood, with continuous efforts in cultural creativity, special consumption, tourism services and smart neighborhoods.
