Futian District is located in the south-central part of Shenzhen City, bordering Luohu District to the east, Nanshan District to the west, facing Hong Kong’s New Territories to the south, and adjoining Longhua District to the north. The district covers a total area of 78.66 square kilometers, accounting for about 4% of Shenzhen's total area. It is home to landmarks such as the Civic Center, Lianhua Hill Park, and Shenzhen’s tallest building, Ping An International Finance Center. Futian’s economic aggregate ranks among the top at the national district/county level. In 2024, its regional GDP reached 594.882 billion yuan (US$82.75 billion). For many years, it has ranked first in Shenzhen in terms of GDP per kilometer, tax revenue per kilometer, total retail sales of consumer goods, total import and export volume, and added value of the financial industry. It is the only district in the city selected for the first batch of counties and districts for "Guangdong's County-Town-Village Revitalization Initiative," and was awarded first place in the “Excellence in Innovation” category in Guangdong Province’s 2023 revitalization initiative assessment, recognized as the city’s “Outstanding Investment Attraction District” for two consecutive years, topped the SADI China “Top 100 Districts in Investment Competitiveness” for multiple years, and ranked among the top three in the SADI China “Top 100 Districts” for five consecutive years.
