Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra (SZSO) on Monday announced its new music season themed "Rise and Resonate," which will span 10 months from Sept. 4 to July 9 next year.
The orchestra will perform nearly 40 concerts in seven series covering classics, chamber music, crossover music, special productions for festivities, original works, and those for entry-level fans.
For the upcoming season, Music Director Lin Daye will lead the orchestra to perform Bruckner's three landmark works — featuring Symphony No. 8 at the opening concert, Symphony No. 4 at the end of the year, and Symphony No. 7 at the closing concert.

The year 2027 marks the 30th anniversary of Hong Kong's return to the motherland, for which the orchestra has specially curated a commemorative concert.
The year also marks the 200th anniversary of Beethoven's death and the 270th anniversary of Mozart's birth. The orchestra will launch a series presenting Beethoven's “Symphony No. 5” and his five piano concertos in their entirety. To honor Mozart, the orchestra's artist-in-residence, Ning Feng, will serve as both conductor and violin soloist, performing Mozart's violin concertos and divertimentos.
The new season will also witness the world premiere of German composer Elmar Lampson's new symphony, commissioned by the orchestra.
The season features a strong conductor lineup, which includes Honorary Music Director Christian Ehwald, Tan Dun, and Yu Long. Other renowned conductors such as Zhang Guoyong, Huang Yi, David Stern, Johannes Wildner, and Petr Feranec will take the podium.

The season will also feature vocalists including Liao Changyong, Gong Shuang, Guo Ziyao, and Marion Vergez-Pascal.
The "Complete B Series" presents a complete performance of Bach's six “Brandenburg Concertos” as well as Beethoven's major symphonic and concerto works.
The "Hall of Fame Series" invites today's top musicians to perform timeless masterpieces by Dvořák, Schubert, Rachmaninoff, Elgar, Berlioz, Ravel, and others. Expect landmark works such as "From the New World," "Enigma Variations," and "La Mer."

In addition, audience-friendly concerts such as the New Year's Concert, New Year's Eve Concert, and Children's Day Concert will cater to all age groups, allowing music to accompany every cherished moment.
