Anna Netrebko, a stellar soprano selected as one of TIME magazine's “100 Most Influential People in the World,” will debut at Shenzhen Concert Hall this Sunday evening.
Performing alongside her will be baritone Artur Ruciński, bass Alexander Köpeczi, and mezzo-soprano Hou Zhenyi, and the Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Michelangelo Mazza.
Hailed as the Maria Callas of our time, Netrebko will present a selection of classics from Verdi, Donizetti, Puccini, and Tchaikovsky.

Baritone Artur Ruciński.
Audience members will hear "Tacea la notte placida" in “Il Trovatore” and the breathtaking “Vissi d’arte, vissi d’amore” in “Tosca” and immerse in her legendary voice, which combines velvety richness with a metallic sheen.
In 1994, at the age of 22, Netrebko made her debut at the Mariinsky Theater, stepping in at the last minute to perform the leading role of Susanna in the Mozart opera “Le Nozze di Figaro,” and shooting to fame. Over the following nearly three decades, she performed at La Scala in Milan, the Metropolitan Opera in New York, the Vienna State Opera, and the Royal Opera House in London. She also performed as a soloist at the opening ceremony of the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics.
She received three Grammy Award nominations and won Germany's Bambi Award, as well as the U.K.'s Classical BRIT Awards for " Singer of the Year" in 2007 and "Female Artist of the Year" in 2008. Whether in live performances or in her many award-winning recordings, Netrebko's portrayals of opera's most classic heroines have demonstrated her extraordinary diverse repertoire and artistic sensitivity. She is also an exclusive artist for Deutsche Grammophon.

Bass Alexander Köpeczi.
Of other performing guests for the evening, Köpeczi, winner of the Herbert von Karajan Award, is known for his dark abyss-like timber, while Hou is a soloist contracted with a German national opera house.

Mezzo-soprano Hou Zhenyi.
The first half of the program features works by Verdi, including excerpts from “Il Trovatore,” “Rigoletto,” and “Don Carlo.”

In the second half, fans will hear excerpts from Donizetti's “Anna Bolena” and “Lucia di Lammermoor,” "Vissi d'arte, vissi d'amore" from Puccini's “Tosca,” which is one of the most frequently performed arias, and excerpts from Tchaikovsky's “Eugene Onegin.”
