Design exhibitions

Two design-themed exhibitions, “Minding the Digital” (until June 3, 2018) and “Values of Design” (until Aug. 4, 2019), are being held. Drawing from the V&A’s extensive collection in London, “Values of Design” features over 250 objects from year 900 to the present. “Minding the Digital” brings visitors into a novel world of immersive experiences shaped by digital technologies.

Eating Design

Dutch designer Marije Vogelzang is exhibiting her eating-related installations at the “Eating Design” exhibition.

Fields of Communion

Fifteen artists are exhibiting 15 installations at the fourth Shenzhen Public Sculpture Exhibition with the theme of “Fields of Communion.”

Art and technology

At “The Ecstasy of Time: Reshaping the Medium of Knowing” exhibition, 11 artists offer unique interfaces for understanding the way technology alters our perceptions of nature.

New media art

International artists are exhibiting their videos, installations and graphics at the exhibition “The Imagined Future Is Not the Future.”

Modernist calligraphy

Writing his undecipherable calligraphy on bamboo stalks, artist Wang Dongling attempts to offer a fascinating contemporary twist on a classic form.

Museum exhibitions

More than 100 ancient wood, porcelain or copper-gilt Guanyin statues and paintings on loan from Capital Museum in Beijing are on display at Shenzhen Museum until Feb. 28, 2018. Meanwhile, a new exhibition of ancient Italian ceramics will open Friday. The ceramics are on loan from the International Museum of Ceramics in Faenza.

UABB in Nanshan

Themed “Cities, Grow in Difference,” the 2017 Bi-City Biennale of UrbanismArchitecture (UABB) includes a three-month exhibition in Nantou Old Town that fuses architecture, art and design.

UABB in Yantian

Themed “Village As Kitchen,” the UABB’s Yantian subvenue exhibition features 18 groups of contemporary artists’ paintings, videos and installations.
