Imagine a world where your clothes change according to your body temperatures, and monitor your physical condition while your necklace begins to glow when the sun goes down. Meet MakeFashion tonight.

At the Maker Faire Shenzhen 2014, Chaihuo invited MakeFashion, a Canadian wearable fashion team, to participate in a show. Based in Calgary, Canada, MakeFashion has produced over 60 wearable tech garments and has showcased at over 40 international events. They introduce fashion designers and artists to the world of wearables through a series of informative, hands-on, designer-led workshops.

One of MakeFashion’s big moves recently was that their co-founder Shannon Hoover, just joined x.factory as a member and x.factory will become a MakeFashion base in Shenzhen and will work to connect and collaborate with local designers to make new and cool wearables.

Hoover, who just finished a show at Maker Faire Xi’an, will share his works and tell his backstage stories from MakeFashion.

Meanwhile, students from the China Hardware Innovation Camp (CHIC) program will gather at x.factory tomorrow to discuss their projects. CHIC is a unique opportunity for students to experience the steps from idea creation to prototyping a product innovation through team efforts. It offers a great learning possibility for students keen to push the boundaries of their discipline.

This is the third year of the CHIC program, and it has attracted students from top universities in Switzerland, such as the School of Design and Arts of Lausanne, Business School of Lausanne and Swiss Federal Institute of Technology of Lausanne.
