Free documentaries on food and environment
Futian Government Online 2017-07-18 09:45

HK-PRD EcoCinema Festival will show environmentally themed Chinese documentaries Sunday. Entry is free.

The event will focus on the relationship between food and globalization. “What’s for Dinner?” is a 30-minute mainland documentary that provides a unique look into the rapidly growing consumption of meat in China and the increasing industrialization of agriculture. Through interactions with people across China, the film examines food production, consumption, sustainability, public health, food security, climate change and animal welfare. “What’s for Dinner?” has English subtitles. A Taiwanese short film will also be screened to show the impacts we are having on the environment.

At the event, Dominic, a Polish vegetarian and yoga instructor, will share his life stories with attendees and guide them through some yoga exercises.
