Stringfever to electrify SZ
Futian Government Online 2017-07-13 09:35

If you’re looking for an evening’s entertainment like you’ve never seen before, then check out Stringfever at Shenzhen Concert Hall.

With their electric instruments and live beat-boxing, they combine exceptional musical skills with a real talent to provide you with a night you’ll never forget.

Stringfever is a quartet of musicians encompassing two electric violins, a viola and a cello. The show has several mainstay features to it, such as a medley of movie music themes, often run as a contest with a prize for anyone able to guess all 20 songs. As well, Stringfever plays Ravel’s masterpiece “Bolero” with two audience volunteers and the four band members playing one cello at the same time.

“The History of Music in Five Minutes” is made up of 40 tunes packed into a frenetic five-minute finale. Charisma, humor and a distinctive use of custom-made violectra instruments create an energetic and fun show.

Stringfever is made up of three brothers and a cousin, all sharing the last name Broadbent. Giles is a gypsy violin demon: You name it, he’ll play it, the faster the better. Ralph is known as the orchestrator: You hum it, he’ll arrange it. Neal provides bass and live beat-boxing simultaneously, making him Stringfever’s one man rhythm section. Graham is a DIY expert: You name it, he’ll build it (violas included).
