Shenzhen's first community digital canteen was officially launched in Yitian Community, Futian District, on January 24.

As part of Futian’s "happy Futian, better community" initiative, Futian designated the Yitian Community as a pilot area to trial a community digital canteen.

Officials from the civil affairs bureau of the district and the Fubao Street had comprehensively assessed the community service supply chain through visits and on-site research and decided that a community digital canteen can cater to the need of the community.

Decisions were made to lure a Chongqing-based enterprise, a national pioneer in running digital canteens, to settle in Futian. In less than three months, the Yitian Community's digital canteen successfully commenced operations.

Covering an area of approximately 700 square meters and capable of accommodating up to 220 diners simultaneously, the digital canteen at the Yitian Community has taken advantage of high technology to serve customers.

The canteen introduces an innovative "digitalized" approach, using a mini-program for user registration, AI face recognition during meal collection, and a self-service weighing method for payment. This provides the community residents with an inclusive and intelligently balanced meal service.

The operation turns out to be also very convenient: consumers only need to place their meal tray on the face recognition binding machine for information binding, collect their meal and then start dining.

The backend platform of the canteen automatically handles the settlement, enhancing dining efficiency. Furthermore, the digital canteen management platform can recommend nutrient intake standards based on consumer physical indicators, medical advice, major chronic diseases, and offer nutritional analysis data for the consumed dishes, as well as personalized health education information, allowing consumers to eat with peace of mind and health in mind.
