The Northern Link, the major piece of transportation infrastructure facilitating the development of the Northern Metropolis in Hong Kong, will connect Shenzhen’s Huanggang Checkpoint in Futian District via a spur line in 2034. 

Yesterday, Hong Kong MTR Corp. announced that it aims to simultaneously open the main line of the Northern Link and the spur line in 2034. The spur line will connect the Northern Link’s San Tin Station to Huanggang Checkpoint, which is still under renovation and expected to reopen in 2026, via the Chau Tau and Loop stations.
