Futian District has gained a reputation as a favored destination for international capital, being home to 17,500 foreign-invested multinational headquarters, according to the latest government census.
Recent data show that Futian leads Shenzhen with five companies newly accredited as city-level multinational headquarters in the ninth batch of certification. From January to May 2025, 1,039 new foreign-funded enterprises were established in the district, a year-on-year increase of 28.91% and 23.57% of the city's new foreign-funded enterprises.
Futian has intensified efforts to attract and nurture foreign investment while stabilizing existing enterprises. In March 2025, the launch of the Futian Foreign Business Service Station added to the district's service network for foreign enterprises, which helps firms establish roots and thrive in the district.
Located in Tower 3 of Kerry Construction Plaza, the Foreign Business Service Station is a key gateway for foreign investors in Futian. It provides a comprehensive, one-stop service platform that covers investment consultations, resource matching, policy guidance, issue resolution, commercial services, and social support (finding apartments, opening bank accounts).
By breaking down communication barriers, the service station offers zero-distance connections between foreign enterprises and government departments, enabling streamlined handling of routine foreign-related procedures such as company registration and tax matters. It also provides 5G-powered video conferencing, allowing real-time voice or video consultations with administrative offices and agencies to efficiently resolve complex issues.
The station also facilitates the dynamic exchange of information and regularly organizes thematic events. Recent activities include organizing guided tours of Futian's industrial layout and advantages for delegations of U.K. business representatives and Swiss business school officials.
The service station also hosts policy briefings, cross-border talent seminars, and investment forums, such as the Greater Bay Area technology enterprises session, that focus on topics such as foreign investment policies, innovation, talent services, and industry-finance collaboration.
Since launching, the service station has handled 126 consultations, served over 520 foreign clients, and organized eight policy and financing exchange events, providing in-depth support to more than 50 foreign-invested enterprises.
Lesley Li, vice president of London & Partners for South China, praised Futian's service efficiency and industrial ecosystem, noting that their recent visit will be used as a global practice case to help Shenzhen build its reputation as an international fintech hub.
A company executive from Shenzhen Real Biological Pharmaceutical Technology Co. Ltd. remarked, "Futian's business environment is among Shenzhen's top tier, with excellent policy incentives."
