Music festival moves online
Shenzhen Daily 2021-11-11 10:02

Given the prevention and control of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Seventh Lianhua Hill Glades Music Festival canceled all the seven live performances for audiences and moved online instead, according to information released by the event’s organizing committee yesterday.

The first live performance, which was performed by Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra last night, was successfully presented online, marking the beginning of this year’s Shenzhen Park Culture Season.

Those who got the festival tickets and interested residents can admire the six other musical performances, which will run through Sunday, via online channels such as “Yishenzhen (壹深圳)” app, “Futianyingshi (福田影视)” app, and DT News app.

In addition to Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra, other orchestras including China Film Symphony Orchestra, Oriental Symphony Orchestra and China Philharmonic Orchestra will stage performances during the festival that will end Sunday night.

No changes were made to other information including times and contents of the festival, according to the organizing committee.

A resident surnamed Lin told Shenzhen Daily yesterday that he is a bit disappointed to know the festival was moved online.

Lin got the ticket for the Latin-themed show performed by China Film Symphony Orchestra on Thursday night. “I have high expectations for the show because I didn’t see performances of this style in last year’s glades music festival,” he said. “Live performances always present better experience.”

The Seventh Lianhua Hill Glades Music Festival is one of the key cultural activities of the Park Culture Season, which will run through March next year.

Seven types of cultural activities will be held in the city’s 45 parks to present over 400 events, according to the Shenzhen Municipal Urban Administration and Law Enforcement Bureau, the Park Culture Season’s organizer.

The events include flower fairs such as 2021 Shenzhen Bougainvillea Show (to be held from Nov. 20 to Dec. 9 in Futian’s Lianhua Hill Park), Shenzhen Chrysanthemum Fair (from Nov. 25 to Dec. 8 in Luohu’s Donghu Park, Futian’s Xiangmi Park and the Shenzhen trial base of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences in Dapeng) and Shenzhen Chinese Rose Show (during the 2022 Chinese Lunar New Year).
