The monthlong 2019 Shenzhen Park Festival was inaugurated Nov. 8 in the warm winter sunshine and the flowery world brought by the 21st Bougainvillea Show at the Lianhua Hill Park in Futian District. Entry is free.

Running from Nov.8 to Nov. 27, the 21st edition of the annual flower show has four major exhibition areas covering an area of 200,000 square meters. At the Kite Square of the park, six thematic gardens present an infusion between ordinary bougainvillea exhibitions and the creativities of garden designers, where beholders can appreciate a hint of exoticism inspired by the Mediterranean and South American gardenings, or feast their eyes on novel installations that resemble a maze or the houses of elves.

 

Cultural events will be held on weekends at the park during the flower show, including a carnival of nature education Nov. 9 and 10, performances given by musical bands from different nations Nov. 16 and 17, and street artist performances Nov. 23 and 24.
