Besides the VR glasses, smart flash drives, intelligent wallets, innovative juice-making bottles and cups, which are still popular, some household smart products such as the household companion robot attracted many visitors. On the hall of the second floor of Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center, one product called the A.I. Nemo displayed at Makers’ Gallery, a special exhibition area, in particular drew a crowd. The smart robot companion A.I. Nemo, a small desktop computer equipped with a webcam and automation technology, can help you communicate with family members when you’re away from home. Besides communication, it can also read aloud text messages, tell stories and track your kids by panning around the room as they play and in case of an emergency, it can even send emergency notifications. “After you have bought the A.I. Nemo and installed the app, you can control the device though the mobile app and have video chats with you family members anytime you want. You can also receive notifications from it on the app,” Li Jun, a manager with Shenzhen Cemate Mobile Technology Co. Ltd., a distributing company, said. So far the A.I. Nemo doesn’t have many competitors that can match its features, which include functions like facial recognition, sound tracing and motion tracking, according to Li. Sporting 2,500 exhibitors from a wide range of sectors, the fair runs until Sunday and offers the widest selection of business gifts and consumer products. The fair, said to be the largest of its kind in China, is held every April and October in Shenzhen.
