The Futian Cultural Hall held its 8th culture festival at the Starry Theater in Shixia Subdistrict, Futian District recently, which featured a variety of art performances including a picture book-themed music play and a guitar concert and gathered musicians at home and abroad.
Futian District, which occupies 78.66 square kilometers, has built 125 parks for citizens to enjoy a “green” city life. The green area of Futian is 3,384.48 hectares, with a green coverage rate of 46 percent. Residents have access to a municipal park, a community park or a green belt within 500 meters.
A new minigarden has been opened at Bijia Hill Park. The 1,000 square-meter garden has more than 90 plant species with “fun” features, such as plants enjoying eating insects, plants growing just inhaling air and flowers that can change colors.
More than 200 chic toy brands, artists and designers, including international contemporary artists Daniel Arsham, Ron English, Michael Lau and Pat Lee, exhibited their creative toys at the 2021 QQ Toy Expo held at Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center in Futian District between May 2 and 3.
The fourth Futian Beijing Opera Art Festival was kicked off yesterday.
Several newly planted flowerbeds made up of bulbous plants, which include tulips, Grape Hyacinths, wild daffodils and Hyacinths, have turned Xiangmi Park in Futian District into a local version of the Keukenhof tulip garden in the Netherlands at citizens’ doorsteps.
A floral landscape designed by 116 florists has turned the road into Shenzhen Festival Avenue to welcome the upcoming Spring Festival. Roadside bus stop signs, garbage cans, fire hydrants and lamp posts were also transformed into extraordinary floral artworks.
A Ming-Dynasty arts and culture themed exhibition is in town. The exhibition showcases more than 50 pieces of hanfu and ornaments from the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644 A.D.). Visitors can capture a glimpse of the culture and charisma of the dynasty.
